The pollen would have been available while the dandelion was still yellow and the bees pollinate; but when it finally seeds it becomes the wisps that blow away. That is nature's way of disbursing the seeds.

they are seeds. the pollen would be on the yellow compound flower (actually hundreds of tiny individual flowers). The fluffball of seeds is called a "Clock"

Reply:Dandelions are actually herbs that reproduce by seeds. Those little white parachute looking things are just there to help the seed which is at the very end travel by air to the next destination.
