Can we call the shedding of pollen from a male flower as pollination?Or is it applicable only to the receiving

no . i think the sheddin of pollen by male flower is only a part of polln. its completed only when pollen is received by the stigma. so polln refers to the phenomenon in which pollen is transfered from anther to the stigma of the same (self polln) or of another flower (cross polln). thus both together makes the process.

Pollination only occurs when pollen successfully lands on the receiving flower and pollinates it. I love the masterbation comment! Doubt it's as fun for the flower, but it's a nice thought.
Reply:that is a male flower's version of masturbation
Reply:It is only pollination when the pollen from the male is impregnated into the receiving donor. It is truly amazing to watch the seed pod grow into maturity, collect the seeds, plant and get a brand new version of both parents.
