What on earth could be causing my allergies?

I have horrible fall allergies. And the odd thing about them is that on days when the pollen count is low, they go crazy (usually the lower the crazier). And the days when the pollen count is high, they are just fine. Today is one of the second worst allergy day I've had so far, and the pollen count is way lower than it has been. Obviously, there must be something other than the usuall pollens causing them.

I do not have pets, and am rarely around animals, and I haven't done anything recently that could be causing this now, or been around anything that I would think could cause it. I don't take any allergy medication currently, because it is very expensive and completely ineffective. The only airborn allergens I know effect me are molds and certain kinds of animal dander, though there certainly must be something else.

I would really like to get some information about what could possibly be causing this without taking an allergy test if possible, as I hear they aren't pleasant.

What on earth could be causing my allergies?
I have horrible fall allergies too...well I pretty much have allergies all the time. What it might be is the dryness in the air. In the fall, dust is more likely to blow around which can cause allergies. More dust is in the fall b/c it's dryer in the fall than the other seasons. If you do go to the doctor he/she can prescribe you something like Zyrtec to help. You just take it once a day and it helps build up your body fight against allergies so you don't have huge allergy attacks. Hope this helps
Reply:allergy tests are not something i would take up for a

hobby, but the whole battery of tests is less unpleasant

than a single day of suffering. get them and if they

do not find the culprit, then you might have to be

referred to an allergy treatment center. the reason

you need to take care of this is because if left untreated,

the irritation to your system can lead to a lot of really

bad stuff down the road.
Reply:Are you perhaps reacting to dust or mold?
Reply:Could be mold spores.Check the air quality in your area.Grass pollen is high where I am today and I have a headache!
Reply:Molds
Reply:for most people with allergies dust and mole are a good cause of these days. most people are allergic to cat hair even if they don't have any pets.

to help with allergies then try to keep house as clean as possible that means keep dust and dirt out and make sure there is no mole in your house.

allergy test are not too bad i had these and know what i am allergic to now and on medicine.
Reply:it depends on what your alerrgect to i am allergct to dogs and sertent sesons my addfise is to see you doctor
Reply:i dont know but my allergys do the same. i am fine during the summer but when fall comes around my nose is runny and i sneeze like every 5minutes its driving me crazy
Reply:Maybe your immune system is down, somehow, showing as allergy symptoms.

Rest, rest, rest, a lot of good water (distilled is the best), hot teas, hot soups, a lot of lightly steamed veggies and fresh organic fruits and rest.

How about your stress level? Is it high? Bring it down if possible.

Hope you feel better soon.

Take care.
