How effective is eating honey for alleviating allergies?

My husband has severe allergies to all kinds of things, not only pollen. Would eating more honey help him significantly? He also has allergies to smoke, pet dander and strong perfumes.

Actually, they say eating LOCAL honey is GREAT for allergies. It is like a natural anti-histamine. It's a natural home remedy for allergies. It builds your immune system to the local pollens in the area. It's like getting the pollens in a tiny dose so your body builds up a resistance. It's like natural allergy shots.

Reply:I don't think it would be a good idea to eat honey if you have allergies to pollen. That is what honey is made of!! You can't control exactly all the different pollens in honey, though some may say that it is clover honey or something. You can't control where the bees go to collect!!
Reply:Not effective.
