How do I get relief from nasal congesgtion if I have a heart condition and can't take decongestants?

I take a beta-blocker because of a heart condition. But I have allergies and have been very congested due to the increased pollen levels recently. Does anyone have any remedies for my stuffy nose? I can't take over the counter decongestants because of my heart condition. But I can't continue spending hundreds of dollars on prescriptions to get minimal temporary relief either. TIA

talk to your doctor, tell him to prescribe you generic brands so u can save money. its really hard to say what u shoudl take ur doctor can help u more.
Reply:drink plenty of water, eat an anti-inflammatory diet, keep your bedroom as allergan-free as possible....get allergy-proof mattress and pillow covers, dust often, wash blankets and sheets in hot water.....

for an immediate fix, eat something spicy.......
Reply:try using Eucalyptus oils.....placing it on the temples and right above your nosebridge
Reply:Try "washing" your sinus with a saline solution that you can buy over the counter. Normal saline should help you and clear it up temporarily. Godloveya.
Reply:a good remedy is menthol crystals bought from any chemist. you take a very small amount put it in a bowl of hot water then inhale the vapors. Be aware the strength of them though because too many makes your eyes water xxx
Reply:try a saline nose drops, its just salt water but my mother in law uses it all the time with great success

you can buy it at the pharmacy ,she thinks the drops are better than the spray
Reply:Try Ocean nasal spray. It can't possibly interact with your prescriptions because it is natural salt water. It really works. Give it a try!
Reply:try just a dab of Vick's just inside your nostrils=it works for me
Reply:its very simple and very effective and cost effective too. Use plain, over the counter saline solution to clear your sinuses. It works like a charm and it also irrigates nasty germs out..believe me, it will work!
