What is the name of the disease caused by pollen inhaled from bird and bat droppings?
Histoplasmosis. It's actually the fungus that grows on the bird and bat droppings that you inhale. This disease can attack any organ. I lost the vision in one eye as a result, although this form is more closely associated with the 3 great rivers systems of the US (Mississippi, Missour and Ohio Rivers).
Reply:histoplasmosis--and it is fungal spores that are inhaled from the droppings, not pollen. It is a respiratory disease (or a disease of the lungs).
