3- Stigma

Fertilization,in plants, takes place when the pollen grains unite with the:?
the ovary holds the ovule while the stigma is where the pollein grain will land on before double fertilisation.

One of the two male gametes fertilisies the egg cell (at the end of the ovary), forming a diploid (2n) zygote. The other male gamete fuses with two haploid polar nuclei (contained in the central cell) in the centre of the embryo sac (or ovule).
