Whydo i have shortness of breath everytime ive got a pollen allergy?

When you have an allergic reaction to something and irritation at the affected site occurs. With a pollen allergy the affected sight would be in your lungs. When you breath you pass air from your mouth, through your trachea, through tubes going into your lungs called bronchi, and finally into your alveoli which are little pods where the oxygen exchange from the air to your blood takes place. When you breath in pollen your bronchi are becoming irritated due to the allergy, the irritation causes swelling. Now you have swelling in the tubes where the air is being passed into your lungs therefor, you have to work harder to push the air through a smaller space i.e. difficulty breathing and feeling short of breath.
