What is the purpose of the pollen tube that forms after pollination?

It carries the spermy thing down to where it needs to be.

What is the purpose of the pollen tube that forms after pollination?
It delivers the unflagellated sperm to the egg (and endosperm) obviating the need for water to carry the sperm.
Reply:It forms so that the pollen nucleus can travel to the ovule to fertilize it.
